| these past two weeks have been so busy but soo awesome
two weeks ago was tech week for the musical and the shows were last
weekend. it turned out great! so much better than we all thought it
would. and i heard positive remarks about it too! i was upset i
couldn't go to the cast parties (dictator parents) but i had lots of
stuff to but i'm so happy that turned out all rite.
last sat nite was shivani's sweet 16 and it was a really great party. i
had a great time. although i did get made fun of a lot (ha - it's
american, not u.s.!!!) somebody made me feel really good 
and then came fbla slc 2005!!! it was amazing! i had such a great time,
it was sooo much better than any of the jsa conferences. here's the
account of my three days there (i know really long, but it was so
great, i wanna remember all the details):
wednesday - we left south at about 8ish and drove to kutsher's
country club about an hour and a half away. then we met jon at the
front and he took me to see my twin!!! i sat with therese for a while
and then realized i should go put my stuff in my room. so went to the
room which was pretty nice and big. my room: me, kathryn, maryann,
and diana and the connected room was the rest of the girls: sara,
kristen, jen, and jeannie. it was cool that our room was connected cuz
we left the door open the whole time so we could walk in whenever. then
we went to general session, hung out in our rooms until the first
competitions. my first was at 1:00pm ebi with sara cann. we got pro (yay
for Jane! lol )
and everything went really well. we just hoped we would make it to
finals. then at 4pm was the parlipro team event. we were sooo
messed up in the prep room. but then we calmed down and got through
it. we handled the problem sooooo well. we were so organized and
got everything done. then at the actual performance we made
almost no mistakes, only a small pause and that was it! we were sooo
proud of ourselves. at 5:30 we went to dinner. that was ok.
then afterwards we went to our district meetings and heard our district
candidate present her skit. i felt so special i got to be the
district teller...ooooo..lol. then we went to the general session where
they introduced all of
the state officer mainline candidates and the candidates presented
skits. jeff's and therese's were really cute. some were kinda
annoying/boring. but most were cute, i liked josh wallace's FARM.
(later me and martyann found out that he actually lives on a farm - 4,
000 acres. marianne asked him if he had any animals and he's like yea,
600 cows (wow that's a lot of cows), and we expected him to say like
300 horses but he only has 3, 2 dogs, and lots of cats. lol.) then at
the end, the state prez, rj shevat, announced the schools in the ebi
finals and south was the first one to be announced! me and sara were so
excited! we went back to the rooms to get ready for the dance and then
we left and went to the dance, which was pretty good. i had a good time
dancing with therese and the rest of the girls. especially when they
stopped the dance to do the walk around the lake for the state charity
and me and therese were freezing! we ended up walking only 1/4 of the
way around the lake before we headed back. the dance ended and we
got back to the room at about 11:45 while we waited for mr. pritts to
bring us our pizza. then we pigged out on pizza and stayed up and
talked. i fell asleep pretty early, around 1:30am. at least i wasn't
like kathryn who stayed up all nite studying parlipro. lol.
thursday - woke up really early, at around 6ish to get ready so i could
help jeff set up his campaign booth (he was running for state
secretary). i got there kinda late but it still worked out. he
definately had the biggest and best looking booth. he was the
only one who actually built something. all the rest of them were tables
with a three fold board. jeff worked soo hard and he even got a lot of
sponsors to give away stuff. he was giving away free Mets tickets and
he got coca-cola to give him free drinks! then i went back to the room
to get business shoes, thanks to sara!, and then went down to breakfast
with the rest of the girls. after breakfast made another trip to the
room with kristen to change into a skirt that i borrowed from kristen.
then we had some time, so me and sara decided to head to the campaign
booths to check them out, but then jon said that my skirt was too
short, so i headed back to the room, and changed back into my own
skirt. urgh, so painful walking around so much!!! i must have made a
kazillion trips back and forth from the room. now we didn't have time
to see the campaign booths so we headed
to the ebi finals at 9:50. we got pro again and were second to go. we
had asked to go early cuz sara had job inteview at 11:00. we were
expecting to get con, but we got pro again. i guess it was a sign that
Jane helped us again! so we had the 10 minute prep time and then
we went in, shook the judges hands (very important to shake hands) and
then began. it went perfectly, and we were really happy with how it
turned out. i really liked the judges in this round. they were both
really young and smiling during our whole speech and then said "great
job!" when we were
leaving. i was so proud of us. then at about 11, i went to check
out sara's job interview room and then headed back to the room, changed
into nice capris and went to the campaign booths where i saw all the
booths, got tons of candy, and then helped jeff out by handing out
drinks and advertising his campaign. at 1pm i went to the dining room
so that i could take the java test. we had to wait sooooo long before
we could get in. meanwhile i talked to dan katz from therese's school.
turns out we had the same nickname, kitkat. it's sooo cute, therese
calls him kitty!! the test went ok. then i went back to help jeff. i
walked back and forth soo many places that my feet felt like they were
gonna fall off, they hurt soooooo much. i stayed until about 3, which
was when we had to clean up. then we went to the general leadership
session where voting delegates could question the candidates.
after that all the girls headed up to the room where we just hung out
until we had to go to find out the results of the voting. we go
back to the stardust room and we had to wait for like an hour extra cuz
they couldnt get a majority vote for president. finally the voting
ended and we went in. everything was sorta tense cuz we wanted to know
who won. president: tommy fijacko vice-president: josh wallace
secretary: jeff greenspan! (yes he won, against his ex-gf too)
historian: lisa lazzari and reporter: theres a story behind this.
technically therese won but since there can only be up to two people
from one district as a state officer, she wasn't allowed to be
reporter. afterwards me and marianne went to go see how therese was and
she was crying. she made me cry too! i always cry when i see others
crying. then we went to the formal dinner. that was pretty good. we
went back to the rooms to change for the formal dance and all the girls
from our chapter looked awesome... here's a pic of most of the girls..
friday - woke up at around 7ish to get ready and finish
packing/cleaning up. the other girls left, and me, marianne, kristen,
and kathryn went down to breakfast. we met up with the rest of the
girls. i had a half a bagel and some fruit punch again. we went to the
piano area and listened to jeanny and marianne "play" the piano. then
we went back to our rooms and hung out/finished packing until general
session. we went to general session and were really anxious to
find out who won what and whether or not we were going to nationals.
south did sooooo well. i was really proud of all of us. i was really
proud of me too! the first one i found out was ebi...me and sarah won
first!!!! omg that was a total surprise to me, i had no idea we would
do that well especially considering we did most of it the night
before...so we're going to nationals!!!!! the next one i did was
parlipro team event and we got fourth..i really expected us to get much
higher, but i guess i didn't work out. and then was the java test, and
i got third, i was sorta expecting higher, but i didn't care too much
about that test. soo many people won and 8 people were definately going
to nationals.
nationals..orlando, florida baby!!! i can't wait!!! here's a link to the resort. omg it is soooo gorgeous. i can't believe we're going all expenses paid!!!

| wow, long time since i haven't updated. well the vacation is over. not much of a vacation tho. it was good and relaxing but kinda boring. last saturday was RANA holi and even though it was soooooooooooooooooo boring, me and the girls had a good time taking pics in the bathroom! lol. i know weird.

ahhhhh so much to do, my calendar is filled with stuff to do. i'm soo busy for this whole month with debate, fbla, sat class, props committee for the musical and parties i have no time for anything else! but hopefully all will be fun! next weekend is preethi's sweet sixteen so i'm looking forward to hanging out with friends i hardly ever see and dancing the night away :) i love to dance soooo much! i'm so sad i didn't get to perform at RANA and won't at ICSR. but maybe a couple of us will get together for the talent show at south, but i dunno if that'll work out. my optimism level seems to be getting lower and lower.
too many things are changing. time is passing by too quickly. i don't want this to end but at the same time i do.

| so vacation's over. i'm dissapointed cuz i didn't get to do all the
things i wanted to do, but i had a good time anyway. i didn't really do
much besides work and sleep (yay! making up for the lost hours during
school days) i just don't know how i'm going to adjust.
dec 25: my whole family went out to queens for dinner and a movie. we
were supposed to meet up with another family but it didn't work out. it
was an early celebration for my parent's anniversary which was on dec
28. we saw Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo,
which was definately better than we expected, but overall it was a
pretty good movie. then we had dinner at jackson diner. it's one of the
best indian resturants we go to and my dad's been eating there for the
past 25 years. all in all it was a really nice day.
dec 27: we went shopping and bought tons of stuff the only drawback was that it was sooooo freakin cold that night.
dec 28: i went to work with my mom (mucho boring).
dec 30: my cousin picked up me and my sis and we went to her house in
westchester to hang out with my other cousin who was visiting from
florida. it's soooo unfair cuz she had a whole week more vacation than
us.  we had pizza hut pizza (yummy!) and
went to see 'Fat Albert" which was funny "hey, hey, hey" lol. good
times. then we were up till like 1 just talking and watching tv. my cuz
and my sis fell asleep watching 'blind date' on tv. but i couldn't fall
asleep until 3-4ish.
dec 31: happy birthday to my mom! we went back to my house and hung
around for a little while. i finally got andrea's christmas presents
that she sent from france. i can't wait till she gets back. i miss her
sooo much. it's true that you never realize what you have until it's
gone. but she'll be back soon so it's ok. we went to the mall and
shopped. got some cool jeans and sweatshirts. i finally got my new
sneakers. yay. at night we watched 'etraaz' which was ok. it was really
predictable though, just like all indian movies. then me, my sis, my
bro, and my cousin saw 'mean girls' haha soo funny. i love that movie.
then at 11:59 we turned on the tv and watched the ball drop. then mini
pillow fight/ jumping over each other. lol. 'first punch of the new
year' 'first insult of the new year' 'first clothes i wore in the new
year' fun stuff.
jan 1: woke up and hung around for a little while. then my cousin left
to catch her plane back to florida. at about 5 we left to go to temple
in long island for new year's pooja. it was sooooooooo long. we did
pooja for 3 and a half hours. everyone's body below the waist fell
asleep. it was soo nice to get up after sitting for so long. then we
had dinner and drove home.
jan 2: did work and watched the figure skating grand prix. it was
pretty good. i love watching balbin and agosto skate. they are soo
good. i love watching ice skating in general. i skated for about a year
and then stopped. i wish i didn't. i love skating and it's one of my
favorite sports to watch. i also love watching swimming, diving,
volleyball, beach volleyball, and gymnastics. i was glued to the set
watching them during the olympics this past summer.
so that was my vacation...now time to get back to reality and deal with school.

why do things always have to change? everytime i turn something else
happens and i feel even worse. the one thing that could break me,
happened. now i can't get it out of my head. i can't see the same
anymore and now i hurt even more. i try not to think about it but i
can't help it. and i don't even know why i do, but i do. i know that
didn't make sense at all..

i know i haven't updated in a while. life's been hectic. i wonder if
anyone reads my xanga anymore. i wonder this everytime i update (is it
even worth it?) but sometimes it feels good to get my feelings down. so
this is my not so private post (maybe someone will say something).
life gets so complicated, especially now, with parents, with
school, with friends, with not-quite-friends, with wants, with wishes
and hopes and dreams...that never seem to come true. it feels weird
some days to just...be. so many people think i'm all happy and bubbly
all the time, but it's so much easier to fake things than to act all
depressed and moody all the time. don't get me wrong, i am genuinely
happy a lot, but that's when i'm not worrying about every single little
thing that's going on in my life. comparatively, my life is not bad,
not unbearable, but sometimes it can feel that way. and sometimes i
feel so disconnected from everything. i'm hoping things will
change, but things do change, and not always for the better.
so my short and random rant. feeling very something (there's no name
for an emotion to describe it, i think) but on a happier note...
